United Autosports confirm that Zak Brown and Richard Dean will be driving a McLaren 570S in the GT4 European Series for the third round at Zandvoort from June 18-20.
Team United Autosports owners will get behind the wheel of the # 230 McLaren 570S, joining the team’s regular drivers, Bailey Voisin and Charlie Fagg on the # 23 McLaren and Gus Bowers and Dean Macdonald on the # 32. The team will field three cars for round three at Zandvoort and, with a fast track, the weekend should provide some exciting races for the team.
Zak Brown back behind the wheel of a McLaren
It won’t be the first time Zak has raced a McLaren GT, having driven a McLaren MP4-12C GT3 in the Blancpain Endurance Series in 2012 and in the British GT Championship in 2013, alongside Alvaro. Kinship.
At the end of 2012, Zak and Alvaro won the final round of the British GT Championship for United Autosports. Since then, Zak and Richard have focused on their historic races by competing in racing events around the world.
I am very excited to get back behind the wheel of a racing car in Zandvoort. I have tested with the team behind the wheel of our McLaren several times now and I am ready to go to Zandvoort to see what we can do. It will be nice to come back to modern racing, having focused on historic racing the last few years. Of course Charlie, Bailey, Gus and Dean do a fantastic job for us as regular riders, but Richard and I can’t wait to get back on the track together.
It’s been a long time since I’ve driven a current United Autosports car, so I’m really looking forward to driving the McLaren GT4. Zak and I have only really competed in historic events the last few years, but we’ve had quite a bit of success, securing a few podiums together in recent years.
I am very happy to participate in the GT4 event in Zandvoort, it is one of the best sites in Europe. The GT4 European Series are also incredibly successful and attract huge grids, so kudos to everyone at SRO.
