Xiaomi Redmi Note 10: towards a transition to 5G and Oled – DigitalVersus

The Redmi Note 10 already appears on a Chinese certification body. The next low-priced smartphone from Xiaomi will offer an Oled panel as well as 5G connectivity thanks to the latest processor from MediaTek.

The Redmi Note 9S barely has time to reach us when the first information about its successor already appears. The one that should naturally be called Redmi Note 10 is listed on the TENAA website, a Chinese certification body. And to mark the tenth model in the range, Xiaomi intends to offer a small upgrade.

Oled, 5G and new processor

From the characteristics recorded on the site of the Chinese certification body TENAA, we learn that this Redmi Note 10 would abandon the LCD panel to (finally) offer Oled. The latter would be 6.5 inches, with a definition of 2,400 x 1,080 pixels and a 20: 9 ratio. Like the Note 9S, this model adopts a punched screen, with the hole placed in the middle of the display.

The back of the mobile also looks like that of its predecessor, except that it has only 3 sensors instead of 4. The main one is again 48 megapixels and is the only known at present. It is however easy to guess those who could accompany it: an ultra wide-angle as well as a macro – as on the Redmi Note 9. Unless Xiaomi decides to offer a telephoto lens instead of a macro module .

This Redmi Note 10 offers a 4,420 mAh battery, a capacity lower than that present in the Note 9 (5,020 mAh). It can load quickly at 22.5 W. For the processor, the new Redmi will benefit from the next MediaTek chip, which has just been announced by the Taiwanese firm. The Dimensity 820 GPU would take the place of the MediaTek Helio G85 present in the Redmi Note 9, and would also leave Qualcomm and its Snapdragon on the floor. This new processor also announces the arrival of 5G on the range of inexpensive smartphones from Xiaomi. Finally, this Mediatek Dimensity 820 will be coupled to 6 GB or 8 GB of RAM, depending on the finish chosen.

Note that during the MediaTek conference, Xiaomi came on stage to announce that its next "Redmi 10X" would be the first smartphone to adopt the Dimensity 820 chip. It will not be necessary to wait very long before being entitled to a official announcement from the company.
