Donald Trump, a chance for Huawei… and for China? The question may seem provocative, as the US president seeks to surround the Chinese champion of telecoms and 5G from all sides. In one year, the White House launched three sanctions packages against the world leader in telecom equipment, in order to cut it off from its traditional partners. Whether they are American (like Google), European (STMicroelectronics) or Asian.
Of course, Huawei has been persona non grata on the other side of the Atlantic since at least 2012. Under Obama, already, a congressional report had designated him (along with his compatriot ZTE) as a " threat to the security of the United States Because of his supposed ties to Beijing power. And the China-bashing has always been a handy weapon in the United States during the pre-election period. However, the conflict between Washington and the first technological company in China had never reached such vigor.
