RCF was created in 1982, at the initiative of the Archbishop of Lyon, Monsignor Decourtray, and Father Emmanuel Payen.
From the start, RCF had the ambition to spread a message of hope and to offer as many people as possible a
Christian reading of society and current affairs.
Strong of 600,000 listeners every day,
RCF now has 64 local radio stations and 270 frequencies in France and Belgium.
These 64 community radio stations recognized as being of general interest live mainly from donations
of their listeners. Information, culture, spirituality, daily life: RCF offers
a general public, generalist, proximity program.
The RCF network counts 300 employees and 3,000 volunteers.
