Sebastian Vettel may also invest and soon own shares of Aston Martin.
This is the opinion of Toto Wolff, the boss of the Mercedes team who recently took a stake in the new project Aston Martin, a brand relaunched by Lawrence Stroll.
Wolff had also actively encouraged the Ferrari driver to switch to Racing Point for 2021, which will be renamed Aston Martin F1 Team.
"First and foremost, Sebastian is a racing driver," Wolff explains when asked if part of Vettel's salary would be paid in shares as some rumors suggest.
"His decision, it was based primarily on performance on the track. But yes, that doesn't mean that he might not buy some stocks as well – especially if the company is still rated at a level low in the financial markets. That opportunity is there, of course. "
Wolff therefore dodges any direct answer and adds
“You know, I also have shares in Aston Martin. But just from a fan's point of view, I think that Sebastian is going to go is great. Germany is the second most important market for this. Mark."
