Lexus NX reliability – Everything you need to know before buying the Lexus NX, an SUV that counts among its potential competitors the BMW X3, Audi Q5, Mercedes GLC, Jaguar F-Pace and Volvo XC60.
Lexus NX: key facts
Launch: september 2014
Restyling: september 2017
The only engine still in the catalog, the 300h hybrid has sometimes suffered from white smoke from the exhaust. The cause is the exhaust gas recirculation valve (EGR) or the exhaust manifold to be replaced.
The 200t petrol engine, offered until 2017 and which produced 238 hp, suffers from a sometimes faulty turbo relief valve, which can cause metallic clicking noises, loss of power and jerkiness in operation.
Classic reprogramming of the engine mapping was also carried out by the technicians.
The torque converter in the automatic transmission may have affected the quality of acceleration. Lexus has made a few replacements on NXs manufactured through January 2016.
The risks of lifting the hood while driving have been identified on cars produced before March 27, 2019, because of the lock.
- Equipment :
Multimedia interface anomalies are listed. The cases are still quite rare, but it can happen that the screen freezes or turns off unexpectedly, the Bluetooth becomes undetectable, the GPS does not respond or the touchpad is inoperative. Normally, an update at the dealership is sufficient to eradicate the failure.
Messages displayed on the instrument panel indicating “LDA failure” (Lane departure warning) and “PCS failure” (pre-collision system) were also reported to us. Again, electronic reprogramming is required.
