Two six-cylinder diesel engines enrich the range of the new BMW 4 Series Coupé, with 340 hp for the most powerful and micro-hybridization in both cases.
The BMW 3 and 5 Series are not the only models of the Bavarian brand to receive new engines at the start of the year. The second-named 4 Series Coupé benefits from two new six-cylinder diesel engines. Both display 3L of displacement, are turbocharged and have 48V micro-hybridization by an alternator-starter. These two units are automatically associated with an automatic gearbox as well as the xDrive all-wheel drive. The 430d xDrive displays a power of 286 hp for a maximum torque of 650 Nm, enough to achieve 0 to 100 km / h in 5.1 s according to the manufacturer.. BMW announces a low average consumption of 5.2 L / 100km for CO2 emissions of 137 g / km in the WLTP cycle. The car starts at € 57,700 in France.
An M Performance diesel version
The new M440d xDrive is used as a diesel alternative to the M440i xDrive (374 hp) in the M Performance range. Its engine develops 340 hp and 700 Nm. It is coupled to the eight-speed Steptronic Sport gearbox and has an M Sport differential.. Recognizable by a few sporty aesthetic attributes, this version takes only 4.6 s to reach 100 km / h according to BMW, which promises an average consumption of 5.7 L / 100 km and CO2 emissions of 150 g / km . Displayed € 64,499.99 excluding options, the M440d xDrive comes to hunt on the lands of the Audi S5 TDI Coupé of 341hp, sold significantly more expensive at € 80,200 minimum.
