You will be hard pressed to find what is really hiding under the skin of this pretty blue convertible. Unless you look inside and you know English cars well.
The Aston Martin Vanquish made many teenagers dream in the 90s. This sculptural English GT, made famous in an episode of the James Bond saga (before DBS at Casino Royale), is still considered one of the most beautiful sports of all time.
But beware, this blue convertible is not an Aston Martin Vanquish. Firstly because the car only existed in the coupe version, but above all because its chassis has in reality nothing to do with that of the grand touring car of Gaydon.
So is it a vulgar aftershock? Not entirely: the technical basis is actually that of a heavily damaged 1998 Jaguar XK8. The car still has its original 4.0-liter V8 and has been rebuilt to mimic the style of the Vanquish as much as possible. And when we know that the two cars shared certain parts (Jaguar and Aston Martin were then part of the Ford group), we tell ourselves that it would be almost honest to circulate aboard this car offered at just under 20,000 euros on e-Bay.
