Toyota’s biggest SUV in France has just announced its price, well below that of rival Ford Explorer.
Announced in May, the Highlander has now a price in France: € 62,500. This large SUV, 4.95 m long, offers seven seats and is only offered as a hybrid and all-wheel drive with us. It is the naturally aspirated 2.5 engine of the RAV4 that we find under the hood, but in a version 244 hp, where the RAV4 is limited to 222. With 158 g / km of CO2, the Highlander is taxed with a moderate penalty of € 818 this year.
Toyota has chosen to offer only one Lounge finish, very well equipped, at least for the Highlander's early career in Europe. The standard equipment includes, among other things, a JBL sound system with 11 speakers, a 12.3-inch multimedia screen and ventilated front seats. The only options are a panoramic sunroof for € 1,500 and paints priced between € 1,000 and € 1,300. The Ford Explorer, one of its main competitors, plays on another register. Much larger (5.06 m long and downright 2.29 m wide with mirrors) and more powerful with its twin-turbo plug-in hybrid V6 of 457 hp accumulated, it starts at € 77,000.
