The recipe for apple, hazelnut and chocolate cake – le parisien

The apple, our recent political history has shown, is the most popular fruit in France! It tops the list of the most consumed fruits (ahead of bananas and oranges). Nine out of ten French people buy it at least once a year. Even if it is found all year round, the best season to taste it is just after picking, between early September and late November (depending on the variety). You can eat it, of course, but also use it in thousands of recipes. Here is an ultra-comforting apple cake, with roasted hazelnuts and a topping of melted chocolate.

Difficulty: easy

Time: 1 h 15

Cost: 1 euro / pers.

The ingredients for 6 to 8 people

  • 2 large eggs
  • 100 g of brown sugar
  • 200 g flour
  • 150 g Greek yogurt
  • 1/2 sachet of yeast
  • 125 g salted butter
  • 125 g of whole hazelnuts
  • 3 organic red apples (approximately 480 g)
  • 1 C. to c. cinnamon shave
  • 150 g of dark chocolate + 2 knobs of butter and 3 tbsp. to s. almond milk

The steps of the apple, hazelnut and chocolate cake recipe

1. The dough

Melt the butter and let it cool a bit.

Whisk the eggs with the sugar, then add the yogurt and butter. Mix then add the flour and yeast sifted together.

2. The preparation of the fruits

Grate the apples with their skin because they are organic by turning around the core.

Roast the whole hazelnuts in a pan for 3 to 5 minutes, stirring several times, then mix them coarsely.

Add the apples to the dough, the cinnamon and half the hazelnuts. Mix.

3. Cooking

Preheat the oven to 180 ° C.

Butter a 24 cm diameter loaf pan.

Pour the dough into the mold, sprinkle with sugar and bake for 45 minutes.

Melt the chocolate with the butter and milk.

Unmold the cake on a wire rack, let it cool a little then pour chocolate on top and the rest of the hazelnuts. Serve it still lukewarm for more enjoyment.
