The current BMW X1 is in its final years. Soon it will be replaced by a new generation that our spy photographers have seen in development. For now, the prototype body is camouflaged, but as you will see, the Munich SUV will lose its clothes as it develops.
For the moment, it is difficult to talk about its design because here, absolutely everything has been camouflaged. We can however predict the style of the X1, which visibly looks more and more like its big brother, the X5. The body of the X1 is more rectangular, it looks more muscular and more serious, especially at the front, where the hood is drawn horizontally. We would be curious to discover its grille which seems embedded and sunk into the front face. The whole is reminiscent of a Peugeot, or a Maserati, the choice is yours.
We absolutely do not know the technical details of this BMW X1. On the other hand, and as indicated by its manufacturer in the past, it will be launched in thermal and electric versions. There will of course be petrol and diesel engines, but also one or more hybrid versions as well as a purely electric version which will bear the name "iX1".
Before BMW launches the new X1, the Bavarian manufacturer plans to bring several new products to the market, including the terrible M3 and M4. By then we will also have seen the 4 Series Convertible, and why not, the BMW iX4 which has already been shown as a concept. Coming back to the X1, we think it won't see the light of day before 2021, or even 2022. As for the 100% electric version, it will be launched much later, probably in 2023.
