Type S – Precision Engineered Performance

The TLX Type S reinforces the basic principles of Precision Engineered Performance with significant enhancements to all elements of the driving experience and a distinctive visual appeal inside and out. Delivering track-validated performance, Type S models meet the needs of dynamic driving enthusiasts, and the well-equipped TLX Type S includes an impressive list of high-performance standard equipment, including split 5-spoke wheels inspired by the NSX and Pirelli P-Zero 255 series summer tires.

The all-new 355 horsepower 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 Type S engine was developed by some of the company’s most experienced powertrain engineers, including team members who developed the custom-designed twin-turbocharged V6 hybrid powertrain to power the NSX. A specially tuned 10-speed automatic transmission is also standard, as is the super-handling all-wheel-drive system.MC (SH-AWDMD) with true torque vectorization.

The TLX Type S sports chassis features double-wishbone front suspension, adaptive dampers, an NSX-derived electric brake booster system and Brembo front calipersMC 4-piston with larger front discs and matching red calipers at the rear.
