Say, BMW, next time wouldn't you want to turn your phone the right way before you start filming? At least that way, we can hope to see an entire body in one shot, not like in this 15s clip where we can still see a prototype of the first M3 Touring in history leaving M Town.
But we're not going to spit in the soup at the first real glimpse of a car we've been waiting for in ages: a compact station wagon from M. Finally, BMW allows itself to retaliate against the Mercedes C63 and Audi RS4 …
Do not expect to learn anything from this video, except maybe that the M3 Touring, like the sedan, will take well the muzzle of the M4 (thus that of the 4 Series, with their tapered optics and especially their giant grille). The stern ends with two double tailpipes, as expected.
We would like to tell you more, but we will have to wait a little longer since the M3 Touring will not arrive in dealerships before 2022. We only know that it will take over the 6-cylinder in-line 3.0 biturbo already detailed on the M3 Saloon and M4 Coupé (and previously on the X3 and X4 M). BMW has not confirmed in what specification (480 hp standard, or Competition 510 hp), nor with what transmission. Pray that like the sedan and coupe, the station wagon will be available with a manual transmission and / or rear-wheel drive.
If you have 15 seconds to watch anything other than vile screenshots, the clip they are taken from is right there:
