Thanks to its new “Cheetah” mode, can the Tesla Model S Performance take revenge on Porsche and its Taycan? Here is the answer at last.
The Tesla Model S had dominated straight drag racing for many years. This large electric sedan, with all-wheel drive and two very powerful electric motors, can jump from 0 to 100 km / h in less than three seconds. In real life, that's enough to beat most of today's supercars.
But since the arrival of the Porsche Taycan, the supremacy of the Tesla takes the lead in the wing in a straight line. In all the duels against the Tesla, the Taycan Turbo S systematically wins by a short head. The arrival of the new "Cheetah" mode, allowing to further optimize the acceleration from standing start of the Model S Performance, is it enough to get the best out of the German?
As you can see in the video below, the answer is no. As soon as the speedometer approaches three digits, the Tesla is left very slightly behind the Porsche despite its cannon start. In any case, the level of thrust is still impressive on these sedans.
