After two hours of racing in this 2020 Petit Le Mans, the # 6 Acura ARX-05 of Juan Pablo Montoya, Dane Cameron and Simon Pagenaud is in the lead with the Colombian at the wheel. Starting from pole position, she always led the debates during these first 120 minutes. Action Express Racing Cadillac DPi-V.R # 31 is 2e (Pipo Derani) and Mazda RT24-P # 77 (Oliver Jarvis) are 2e and 3e within 10 seconds of the head. Wayne Taylor Racing's Cadillac # 10 and the second Acura, the # 7 (which changed its front cover), round out the top 5.
Note the concerns of the Mazda RT24-P # 55 which first made a fuss on its tires, then had a big problem with the front left brake disc with Harry Tincknell (returned to the paddock) then had contact with the Ferrari 488 GT3 # 63 of Scuderia Corsa (Hunter-Reay). She is now 10th at 5 laps. Worse, Gabriel Aubry on the Cadillac # 85 of JDC Miller went to bang in turn 1, tearing off the front cover. The car was repaired, started again but is last at 44 laps!
The # 52 ORECA 07 of PR1 Mathiasen Motorsports (Patrick Kelly,
Trummer, Scott Huffaker) leads the LMP2 class.
The two Corvette C8.Rs, # 3 (Jordan Taylor) ahead of # 4, lead the GTLMs ahead of the BMW M8 GTE # 24 and the two Porsche 911 RSRs, # 912 and # 911, these five cars being in less than five seconds. The BMW GTE # 25 is in the paddock, the wheels and the front hood have been removed.
Paul Miller Racing's # 48 Lamborghini Huracan GT3 is GTD (Bryan Sellers) first. Meyer Shank Racing's # 86 Acura NSX GT3 Evo follows less than a second ahead of the # 63 Ferrari 488 GTE, # 12 Lexus RC F GT3 and # 16 Porsche 911 GT3 R. These five cars are only 30 seconds apart.
