In the realm of excess, Pagani is queen. The Italian brand is said to be about to prove it again by revealing what would be its craziest creation, understand the most powerful, with the Huayra R.
Pagani had already reached an impressive level in 2011 with the Imola version, powered by a 6L twin turbo V12 developing a whopping 827 horsepower. According to EVO, the latest addition to the workshops of San Cesario sul Panaro would titillate or even exceed 900 steeds.
A new power threshold, for an engine speed of more than 9,500 rpm, which would be reached not via turbocharged technology but thanks to atmospheric architecture. The new block in question would be developed in partnership with HWA, the Mercedes-AMG competition department.
November 12 to find out more
At this stage, very little has filtered through this new Huayra R, Pagani contenting himself with a brief video broadcast during the launch of the Autostyle Design Competition. You can see the edge of a rim and Horacio Pagani, founder and CEO.
“This is a project in which we have invested a lot to create a product so incredible that it even comes with a new naturally aspirated engine, specially designed for this purpose. On November 12, we will tell you about the genesis of the Huayra R ", he announces.
Equipped with the famous R (for 'Revolucion'), the Huayra will follow in the footsteps of the legendary Zonda R whose performance had already hit the headlines, the lap record on the "Norschleife" of the Nürburgring.
