OnePlus announces the deployment of an update of OxygenOS for the OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T. This minor update fixes many bugs and, above all, offers the duo of “flagship killer” the security patch dated April 2021.
OnePlus’ technical support has improved dramatically over time. Not only are the updates relatively quick to arrive on the smartphones of the installed base, but the maintenance time lasts quite a long time. The proof is this week with the publication of an update which does not concern smartphones of 2021, nor of 2020, nor 2019, but of… 2018!

OnePlus has indeed posted on its community site a message about the publication of an update of OxygenOS. The two smartphones affected are the OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T (or maybe even the OnePlus 6T McLaren, although this is not specified in the official source). The update is transmitted in OTA, Of course. And the ROM version is numbered 10.3.10.
An update only to fix bugs
However, do not expect a revolution after its installation. Indeed, this update is only corrective. It has two objectives. Fix some bugs in the operating system. And bring the latest Android security patch. It is datedApril 2021. There is nothing more to expect.
And there will certainly be nothing more to look forward to in the future than security updates. The arrival of this update, based on Android 10, does not suggest that OxygenOS 11, based on Android 11, will arrive on the OnePlus 6 and 6T. The models affected by a migration to Android have almost all received their update, whether it is the OnePlus 8/8 Pro in November 2020, the OnePlus 7 / 7T / 7 Pro / 7T Pro in April, the OnePlus North in March, etc. And no beta has been announced for the 2018 flagship killers. It feels like the end of the road, with only corrective updates to finish.
As always, the update rollout is gradual. This means that it is available for certain series of smartphones, then for others, etc. The choice of targeted series is not geographic, but digital: it is therefore unnecessary to have a VPN to install it. You can of course download the archive from a direct link. But, know that it is only a question of day between the first and the last.
