HAPPY Sébastien OGIER for his eighth HISTORICAL success at MONTE CARLO

HISTORYRISK ..

This Sunday January 24 will remain forever etched in his memory because for Sébastien Ogier, his new success in the premier event of the World Rally Championship, the prestigious Monte Carlo is on the one hand the 50th in his career, but also and above all the … 8th in this famous event!

Indeed, the Ogier-Ingrassia team, who wins at the wheel of their Toyota Yaris WRC, had already triumphed in Monte Carlo in the World WRC in 2014-2015-2016-2017-2018 and 2019. But the pair had already won. during the 2009 edition and this while the Monte Carlo did not count for the World Champion that year, appearing on the menu of the European calendar.

1st Victory obtained at the wheel of a Peugeot 207 S2000, ahead of two other 207 S2000s, that of the Belgian Freddy Loix and the podium being completed by another French driver, Stéphane Sarrazin, also with a Peugeot S2000.

This Sunday, behind Ogier, who won the last special – the icing on the cake – the famous ‘Power stage’, the podium was completed this time by another Toyota Yaris WRC, that of the Welshman Elfyn Evans, his runner-up in 32 Seconds6– and by the Hyundai i20WRC of Belgian Thierry Neuville, classified a 1’13.5, the winner of the Monte Carlo 2020. Ogier and Evans, accompanying him this year on the podium in the Principality!

This year 2021 we find the same three drivers on the podium but in a different order! Ogier winner ahead of Evans and Neuville!

Sébastien Ogier concluded the 2020 season with a victory at the Rallye de Monza, which gave him his seventh World Champion title.

He therefore begins the year 2021 again with a New victory on the Rallye Monte-Carlo roads.
