Xiaomi has just formalized its Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro in China, two exceptional smartphones that take the place of the excellent Mi 9 and its different variants.
At dawn, Xiaomi has formalized its new flagship, which comes to succeed the excellent Xiaomi Mi 9 and its variants: here is the Xiaomi Mi 10. On the menu, solid performances with a very modern design, all for a price always contained, even if it increases this year. We go around the owner of the new flagship of the Chinese brand, or rather flagships, since Xiaomi has made the choice, as in the past, to reveal both a classic model, called Mi 10, and a “Pro” variant, soberly called Mi 10 Pro.
Definitely high-end features
The Xiaomi Mi 10 is the worthy successor of the Mi 9. The smartphone offers everything that we are entitled to expect from a high-end device in 2020. We thus find a beautiful 6.67-inch AMOLED screen at the rate of 90 Hz refresh and extremely reduced borders. This panel also benefits from an exemplary brightness of 1,120 nits on the Mi 10 and up to 1,200 nits on the Pro model. Exit the retractable front camera of its predecessor, since we find on the Mi 10 a punch located at the top left of the panel, like the Galaxy S20, containing a 20MP sensor. The hallmark is certainly likely to establish itself as one of the new standards in 2020, when we know that most of the new high-end smartphones planned for the coming months should also opt for this characteristic, like the OnePlus 8 , or the future Huawei P40 Pro.
At the back, we benefit from a glass back of the most beautiful effect, which obviously allows the smartphone to be compatible with wireless charging (10W). Charging by cable can be done at 30W on the Mi 10, and even up to 50W on the Mi 10 Pro, which will allow it to recharge its 4,780 mAh battery at lightning speed. It is also on this back that we find the photo model of the Mi 10. Arranged vertically, this photo block includes no less than four sensors. The Mi 10 has a main sensor of 108 MP, an ultra wide-angle of 13 MP, a ToF sensor of 2 MP and a Macro lens of 2 MP. The "Pro" model can count on the same main 108 MP sensor, but also on an ultra wide-angle sensor up to 20 MP, on a 12 MP telephoto lens and a second 8 MP telephoto lens. This second telephoto lens will allow him to have a 10X hybrid zoom with OIS.
Finally, inside, we will find for both models the SoC Snapdragon 865 from Qualcomm, and up to 12 GB of LPDDR5 RAM. The chip also allows all Mi 10 to be compatible with 5G by default, but also with WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5. Finally, storage starts at 256 GB and ends at 512 GB.
Xiaomi increases its prices
Inevitably, which says high-end characteristics, says consequent price. If Xiaomi smartphones have long been unbeatable value for money, with high-end features for a low price, the Chinese brand has decided to inflate its prices this year with the Mi 10. Rest assured, since the report quality price is always very correct given the specs displayed. For the time being, Xiaomi has simply announced the local prices, excluding taxes, expressed in Yuan, which is why we can expect higher prices in our regions. The Mi 10 starts at 3,999 yuan (around 527 euros HT) in its 8 / 128GB version, when the 12/256 GB configuration goes up to 4,699 yuan (619 euros HT). The Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro starts at 4,999 yuan (658 euros HT) in the 8 / 256GB version, when the highest-end model climbs to 5,999 yuan (790 euros HT) in the 12 / 512GB version.
The Xiaomi Mi 10 will be available from February 14 in China, and the Mi 10 Pro on February 18. For Europe, Xiaomi has not yet agreed on a date, even if it was initially to be presented and come out in the wake of the Barcelona Mobile World Congress, which was canceled due to the coronavirus epidemic which wins China.
