Ralf Schumacher is watching the transfer season, which still has unknowns in several teams including Alfa Romeo. The former driver thinks the Swiss team could opt for a duo consisting of Nico Hülkenberg and Mick Schumacher.
"Everyone knows about the close cooperation between Ferrari and Alfa Romeo, it would make sense to put a newbie in it" judge the uncle of the F2 pilot with Sky Germany. "I also think they are looking for two new drivers, an experienced man and a promising driver. Maybe negotiations are already underway with Hülkenberg."
Mick Schumacher already tested for Alfa Romeo last year and Frédéric Vasseur has already revealed that the German will be doing free practice at the end of the season for his team. Ralf Schumacher considers this decision intelligent.
"For Alfa Romeo things are not going very well at the moment, to say the least. You don't lose a lot if you let a young driver compete on Friday."
Finally, a promotion from Schumacher to Alfa Romeo would not mean the end of hopes for Robert Shwartzman and Callum Ilott, the other drivers of the Ferrari Driver Academy, who could go to Haas according to Ralf Schumacher: "If Ferrari wants to find a place for its three youngsters, that would be a logical option."
