This Friday, the leader of the Formula 2 championship, Mick Schumacher, cast his seat at Alfa Romeo for his first participation in a free practice session as part of an F1 Grand Prix next weekend at the Nürburgring.
The German driver spent Friday in Hinwil, Switzerland at the Alfa Romeo factory, while this week, Schumacher was able to drive a Ferrari of the 2018 season on the Fiorano track in Italy with two of his comrades from Formula 2: Robert Shwartzman and Callum Ilott.
Next Friday, Mick Schumacher will replace the holder Antonio Giovinazzi at the wheel of the Alfa Romeo C39 during the first free practice session of the Eifel Grand Prix, while Callum Ilott will replace Romain Grosjean at the same time at the wheel of the Haas VF20.
Robert Shwartzman will have to wait until the last Grand Prix of the 2020 season in Abu Dhabi to take part in his first free practice session in F1.
It should be noted that Mick Schumacher is widely expected to replace Italian Antonio Giovinazzi next year at Alfa Romeo. According to the latest rumors, the German will become Kimi Raikkonen's teammate for his first season in F1.
