Instagram and other social networks contain virtual automotive creations of all kinds. So, a certain Jon Sibal imagined a Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Speedster prepared by AMG. The result is quite fantastic and clearly makes us love the restomod phenomenon which consists in modernizing old cars by grafting them with so-called contemporary elements.

Even if it will remain virtual, let’s admit that this project could give ideas to the Mercedes style office, other design studios, renowned bodybuilders and preparers not hesitating to apply the art of restomod in order to offer small series like, for example, the Porsche 914 from Fifteen Eleven Design. As for the one that we have baptized “Mercedes 300 SL Speedster AMG”, it should make dream the biggest lovers of the brand with the star.

The links between the virtual speester and the Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Roadster W 198 II series (1957 to 1963 – photo below) are obvious, especially at the front: grille, optics, etc… Jon Sibal also kept the line bodywork that adorns the front and rear fenders of the original model even if they have taken on volume AMG style.

Jon Sibal does not fail to offer a dose of bestiality to his creation by using the side vents to pass, on each side, a double exhaust outlet. However, the shiny appearance of the Mercedes-Benz 300 SL from the 1960s is perfectly preserved, sorry… sublimated.

Based in California, Jon Sibal also took some inspiration from the lowrider trend by grafting rims mounted by low-rise tires. We also congratulate him for choosing this pastel green. A smooth rear end and a double boss complete the sumptuous design of this imaginary but perfectly imagined automobile. Find other fantastic achievements on: Instagram Jon Sibal.
