McLaren manager Andreas Seidl has confirmed that the front wing tested at Mugello in practice, and then all weekend in Sochi, will be developed as part of McLaren’s evolution in its MCL35.
"With the mid-season homologation coming in, we wanted to gain experience with this as quickly as possible" Seidl revealed. "That's why we decided to test it step by step, as we had some parts available."
"The goal is clear, the direction of development that we have seen in the wind tunnel with this new nose is what we see as the right direction for the future, and as giving us more potential to unlock performance."
Third in the constructors' championship, McLaren confirms other developments to come on the single-seater: "This is the direction we are going. The plan is to bring more and more pieces of this evolution to the track step by step with the clear objective of unlocking more performance."
