Miller Motorcars and McLaren Greenwich took delivery of the second copy for the American market, of one of the most exclusive vehicles presented in recent years: the McLaren Speedtail.
Last March McLaren Automotive delivered the first copy of the sculptural Speedtail to its owner, in this case a customer of the McLaren dealership in Brussels, who was able to be patient to finally enjoy his impressive Hyper GT.
Two years have indeed elapsed between the official presentation of the McLaren Speedtail and this first delivery, after which the operations (and production) of the brand have significantly slowed down due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Things are now “back to normal”, so McLaren sent the first copy of the Speedtail for the North American market to its dealership in Greenwich, Connecticut. Thirty to forty examples of the British Hyper GT will cross the Atlantic in the coming weeks and months, out of the 106 examples of the Speedtail which will be assembled at the McLaren Production Center in Woking.
The British Hyper GT, which underlies the McLaren Ultimate Series lineup, is a true rolling sculpture with its elongated teardrop-shaped body, which has the most efficient air penetration coefficient of any McLaren model designed for this day. The Speedtail has indeed been cut for pure speed and is able to spin at 403 km / h thanks to the 1,070 hp and 1,150 Nm cavalry developed by its 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine, and it only needs 12.8 seconds to reach 300 km / h from a standing start.
Performance which the owner of this model, produced in different shades of blue, has been enjoying for a few days from a cockpit with a central driving position, inspired by that of another legend of the brand: the McLaren F1.
