The long-awaited Maserati supercar bearing the name MC20, which stands for Maserati Corse 2020, was officially unveiled at the event "MMXX: Time to be audacious".
The Maserati MC20 displays great personality and its characteristic shapes allow it to carve out its own place in an elitist niche segment with no shortage of competition. Elegant and sporty, this two-seater mid-engined coupé is characterized above all by “Butterfly” doors. Note also the tapered optical lights, the narrow grille, the specific rims and the pronounced roof drop. The MC 20 is available in six shades. While Blanco Audace white is inspired by glaciers, Giallo Genio yellow recalls the city of Modena. Blu Infinito blue is derived from the principle of anodization, and Rosso Vincente red is influenced by the color of a volcano. Grigio Mistero gray recalls the bare bodywork of cars; Nero Enigma black is shiny and almost liquid.
The ultra-light, high-tech carbon fiber monocoque was designed to make the MC20 stronger, faster and safer. Its high resistance to bending and torsion also makes it impressive from a dynamic point of view, announces the manufacturer, while specifying that it has a Cx of 0.38.
The interior is, it could not be otherwise, luxurious and sporty. An interior equipped only with the essentials, where every element has a practical function. Inspired by luxury watches, the mechanical drive mode selector adorns the carbon fiber center console, reminding all passengers that they are in a Maserati. Racing minimalism paired with Maserati’s signature luxury, right down to the choice of the finest leathers, Alcantara and carbon fiber. In keeping with the times, the MC20 adopts a new generation interface with a 10.25 ″ customizable TFT screen and a 10.25 ″ connected infotainment system. Finally, the MC20 is the first Maserati to be equipped with an ultra premium Sonus Faber audio system.
A beating heart of 630 hp
The MC20 is fitted with the 100% in-house Nettuno engine based on F1 technology, a 3.0-liter twin-turbo 90 ° V6 with dry sump, standard in motorsport, with a combustion pre-chamber placed between the central electrode. and the conventional combustion chamber, and a double spark plug system to improve efficiency and reduce CO2 emissions. It displays a power of 630hp at 7,500 rpm and 730 Nm of torque from 3,000 rpm, or a power of 210 horsepower per liter. The MC20's eight-speed dual-clutch gearbox is mated to a mechanical (standard) or electronic (optional) limited-slip differential.
The MC20 also has the optional Lift Systèm which, when greater ground clearance is required, for example to pass obstacles, allows the front axle to be lifted by a simple button by 50 mm. at speeds of up to 40 km / h. Four driving modes are also offered, namely GT, Sport, Corsa and Wet.
Weighing 1500kg, the MC20 displays a 0 to 100km / h in 2.9 seconds, 0 to 200km / h in 8.8s and a top speed of 325 km / h.
