With a disappointing record near the end of the year, Maserati has unveiled its offensive plan for the next three years, which evokes an electrified version for each new model.
By next year, Maserati will launch an offensive featuring no less than seven new models, all of which will have at least one electrified powerplant. It remains to be seen whether this plan will fall by the wayside, or not, with the recent merger between PSA and FCA.
The current range, currently composed of the Ghibli, Quattroporte, Levante and GranTurismo and GranCabrio, will soon be supported by new SUV and GT.
In order to boost sales, a compact SUV will be unveiled to compete with Porsche with its Macan. It will be unveiled with several thermal engines and a 100% electric motor. Recall that the future Macan will ship a 100% electrical architecture, although it will still be marketed with thermal variants, the time to make the transition smoothly.
A little later, the range will also be enriched by the e-Quattroporte, which will rise to the same level as Tesla Model S, Porsche Taycan, … A plug-in hybrid version will also be proposed.
At the end of the cycle, in 2023, the Levante will be renewed. It will benefit from new electrified engines and an updated design.
