The launch a few days ago of the Maserati MC20 marked the start of a new era for the Italian brand. With a V6 biturbo fully developed in-house, the MC20 produces 630 horsepower and can reach a top speed of 323 kilometers per hour. It will take a few 220,000 euros…
While that six-figure price tag puts the MC20 beyond the grasp of most of us, Maserati has at least been kind enough to give us the chance to imagine the car of our dreams via the online configurator. On the Maserati website, you can choose from a handful of exterior tints, rim designs and brake options, as well as different textures, materials and colors for the interior. The MC20 even comes equipped with a few safety features and plenty of carbon fiber options.
It is in this spirit that the Motor1.com France team offers you its favorite configurations, the Maserati MC20 with which each of us would go behind the wheel. Which one do you prefer ? And you, what would you have chosen? Tell us in the comments !
The choice of Mael Pilven, deputy editor:
From 6 colors to choose from for this Maserati MC20, it is the black "Enigma" that caught my attention. If some bright colors go very well with the supercar, I prefer the discretion of deep black which makes pass the Italian for a stealth car. And to accentuate it all, I chose the 20 inch forged rims, also black, but in matte finish. The only touch of color on the outside, brake calipers who take over maserati blue. Finally to go all the way in sobriety and discretion, no carbon exterior pack.
On the other hand inside, to enhance everything with a little touch of color, I opted for two-tone seats, with the black leather contrasting with the backrest andHavana color seat. Among the options checked, the sports leather steering wheel with Alcantara inserts and the Carbon pack with the counter cap, pallets and door sills in braided fiber.
The choice of Yann Lethuillier, journalist:
I am often in favor of the fact that a supercar, or an exotic car in general, must have a color that highlights it. It is still necessary that the proposed colors are, and this is not really the case by looking at the color chart offered by Maserati. Maybe it's just the blue "Blu Infinito" hue that really sets it off behind our screen among the vivid colors. For once, at Maserati, we are very far from the color chart offered by McLaren, Ferrari or Aston Martin.
Strangely, it is the duller colors that put, in my eyes, the new MC20 in value. Therefore, I turned to a gray "Grigio Mistero" which goes rather well with the 20 inch rims in matte finish. For the color touch, the brake calipers will be red. The interior will be equipped with black leather upholstery with red stitching to somewhat recall the red of the calipers. And preferably with a carbon exterior pack because, beyond its technical contribution, it goes quite well aesthetically with the chosen configuration.
The choice of Khalil Bouguerra, journalist:
Don't you think it's missing a bit of color? About me, I chose the color Rosso Vincente which suits him wonderfully. I hesitated for a long time with the yellow 'Giallo Genio', but finally, my heart swings for the first color. It is a pity that Maserati does not offer other colors, the choice is very limited. As for the wheels, I opted for 'Corsa Design' rims in matte finish that blend well with the body color. Finally, the calipers are red, you guessed why.
To sprinkle everything, I added the carbon exterior pack, and inside, I opted for a black trim stitched with red thread to homogenize the interior and exterior of the supercar. I preferred not to check the carbon interior pack option, thus, the Maserati MC20 seems more classy and elegant to me. Among the options checked, there is the black roof and the carbon fiber hood. Too bad it reminds me of a McLaren 720S.
