In this new article, I suggest you share my thoughts on the similarities between the Maserati Alfieri and the very latest Ferrari Roma. For the occasion, I have made you unpublished 3D illustrations of this Maserati which may never see the light of day.

The discovery of the Maserati Alfieri.
Remember, we are in 2014, the health of Maserati is doing a little better than today and the Gran Turismo awaits her replacement, after already 7 years of career enchanting us with the masterful melody of his V8.
The Geneva Motor Show opens its doors and Maserati surprise everyone by presenting this concept Alfieri with an elegant and racy look (find our article from the period here). The press is unanimous and everyone is eager to see her on the road and sit down in the driver's seat.
Long wheelbase, reduced overhang, the proportions of this concept are superb. He loses the back seats of his big sister Gran Turismo but for the benefit of a devastating look! Under the hood is the 4.7l Ferrari / Maserati 460hp V8 F136.
Unfortunately after this great announcement, we will remain at our end. Indeed, the manufacturer will not stop pushing back the release date of this long-awaited future model.
Good process exchange.
It is now 2020 and a lot has changed in the automotive landscape. Anti-pollution standards are key and manufacturers must absolutely reduce the average CO2 emissions of their ranges.
Prestigious Italian brands are no exception to the rule and Ferrari has integrated the SF90 which brings hybridization to its best performance.
At the same time, Maserati announced that its entire future range will be hybridized or even fully electrified. TheAlfieri has still not resurfaced, but a strange cousin has appeared: the Ferrari Roma.
The proportions are very close to theAlfieri, GT 2 + 2-seater coupe, long wheelbase, short overhangs. You would think you could see the Alfieri concept by observing the profile of this newcomer.
Here is a comparative picture:
We observe that the cutout of the windshield, the roof as well as the front fender approaches each other.
The question that arises is therefore the following. Ferrari have he decided to take over the project self-employed and not lose the work done by the team Maserati ?
Sorry for that provocative subtitle, but you can understand where I'm going with this. In fact, in 2015, rumors suggest that Ferrari would work on an entry-level berlinetta with a downsized engine and, optionally, hybridization. This new Ferrari would kind of be the news Dino.
Mules circulate under a dress of 458 Italia sound very close to that of a Alfa Romeo Giulia QV. This sound would therefore confirm the appearance in the Ferrari range of a V6 BiTurbo. The rumors do not really know immediately and this project disappears from the radar. Until 2019 when an announcement of Maserati surprises his world.
The brand at Trident announces that he will release a mid-engined supercar ! Here is a news which delights all the amateurs of transalpine sports cars, the manufacturer having rather accustomed us these last years to SUVs and sedans, abandoning the coupés.
In September 2020, we are there, Maserati presents the MC20, berlinetta with twin-turbo V6 in rear central position. Here then. This is architecture that is unusual in the recent history of the Trident.
We will probably never know if the builders exchanged projects. But we can only be grateful to Ferrari if that is the case. Maserati was starting to lose a bit of passion, mainly selling Levante, which are not quite true to the brand's DNA.
It's good to see a supercar with that blue logo on it.
For'Alfieri which was the main subject of this article, the story does not yet say whether it will replace the Gran Turismo (scheduled for late 2021 according to the brand's communication plan).
We have to wait and hope that several versions exist and that a version with a spellbinding sound comes into being.
I hope you have enjoyed my illustrations and I am awaiting your opinions on this Maserati Alfieri.
For those of you who have stuck to the article, here are some making-of images for those who may be interested. This way you will be able to see the 3D parts and the photo parts of the images. The most attentive may even recognize the profile of the Chartreuse in the background image, which I was able to photograph to have my ideal background. Do not hesitate to tell us in the comments, if you like these articles with these 3D projections!
