Lexus’s first 100% electric compact SUV has just been launched and unveils its price list. Compact, it charges rather dearly for its qualities.
This is a first for Lexus. Past master in mastering hybrid gasoline-electric engines, the premium division of Toyota seeks to explore other markets, and in particular that of 100% electric vehicles. To put all the chances on his side, the first model launched in this niche is a SUV : the UX 300e. That is, the zero-emission version of the UX 250h, launched last year.

In terms of design, the two models are identical. Alone some details distinguish the UX 300e of its brother UX 250h. On the other hand, under the hood and in the floor, major changes have been made. So the newcomer embarks a 150 kW electric motor (or 204 horses) coupled with a 54 kWh lithium-ion battery, whose cells have been distributed in the floor and under the rear seat in order to preserve roominess and trunk space. Besides, this one sees its ability grow by 47 liters compared to the hybrid version to reach 367 liters. According to its technical sheet, the 4.50 m long vehicle offers a range of between 305 and 315 kilometers (WLTP cycle).
For its launch, the model is marketed with three finishes in the catalog with very complete equipment: Pack, Luxury and Executive. Moreover, only one option is offered in the catalog. This is the metallic paint.
