In addition to the existing Defender 90 (three-door) and 110 (five-door) Defenders, Land Rover would be developing a 130 version of its new-generation off-road vehicle, according to Autocar. It would maintain the wheelbase of 3.02 m of the Defender 110 but its cantilever would be lengthened to accommodate eight people on board.
The Defender 130 is approximately 5.10 meters long, 34 cm longer than the 110 model. It should take over the engines and equipment.
The Defender 130 would be mentioned internally under the term "premium explorer" and would be intended for families fond of travel. It could meet a particular success in China, more and more fond of large SUVs.
Its presentation would be scheduled for the second half of 2020 for commercialization in 2021 at rates logically higher than those of Defender 110.
