Lamborghini is on a good pace selling the Aventador. The brand has passed the 10,000 copies produced, or about a thousand units per year. It is already a huge success: it has sold more than twice as much as the Murcielago.
The insolent success of Lamborghini since its takeover by the Volkswagen group is confirmed with the Aventador. The Gallardo was already a clear commercial success for the Sant'Agata brand which had sold more than 10,000 copies, but here we are in a higher segment, with a much more expensive and radical model.
The XXL size and performance, the total lack of comfort and this single-clutch automatic gearbox did not scare buyers ready to put in € 300,000 and € 500,000 (depending on markets and options) for the engine coupe V12.
By way of comparison, its predecessor, the Murcielago, had sold just over 4,000 units over its entire career. The Aventador is therefore more than improving the balance sheet, while its replacement is in preparation in Italy. This time, Lamborghini will abandon the automatic single-clutch transmission in favor of a double clutch, while the V12 should go through the hybridization box.
