LOS ANGELES (Reuters) – Lady Gaga has lined up her next feature film and will play the wife of a murdered heir to the Gucci fashion dynasty, Hollywood media reported on Friday.
Gaga, whose first star in "A star is born" last year was hailed by critics, will play Patrizia Reggiani, who served 18 years in prison in Italy for orchestrating the murder in Milan of her husband Maurizio Gucci in 1995, according to Variety, the Hollywood Reporter and the deadline.
Reggiani, dubbed the black widow in one of the most outrageous crimes in Italian history at high society, was released from prison in 2016.
Ridley Scott will direct and produce the film, announced the publications. Representatives of Scott and Gaga, born in New York and of Italian origin, did not respond to requests for comment.
The film will be the first for Gaga since she began her musical career on the big screen in "A Star is Born", earning her an Oscar for Best Original Song "Shallow" and a nomination as Best Actress .
No title or date for the release of the film has been given.
