If you fear that the advent of the electric car sounds death sentence of the sports trainers, Lister has something to reassure you.
A first reminder: Lister is an English company that since the 50s, has made a specialty booster Jaguar, or even produce its own racing cars from elements of the brand. Two years ago, Lister had produced some copies of a Continuation Car, which followed one of his most famous competition machines. Today, the most current Jaguar is tackled.
What you see is still a concept, which Lister would like to propose in limited series at the price of 145.000 €. At this price, we obviously offer a Jaguar i-Pace, but substantially "reworked".
Lister begins by replacing bumpers, bonnet, and side skirts with carbon elements. Carbon also for the front lip, roof spoiler and brakes, while the wheels are magnesium. In total, the weight gain is 100kg, bringing the i-Pace to just over 2 tons. A bit of aerodynamic work is also done, simply by lowering the car by a few millimeters.
Without giving more details, Lister says he has reviewed the electric motor to gain power and torque. Thanks to this, the i-Pace by Lister would break the 0-100 in 4 seconds, half a second better than the standard version. That said, this increase in performance could obviously result in a reduction in autonomy.
Finally, the detail that stings our curiosity the most is that Lister also announces offering the i-Pace a more sporty sound. Indeed, electric cars have the obligation, for the safety of pedestrians and cyclists, to emit a noticeable sound at low speed. We would love to know how Lister gives a sporty interpretation to this electric sound …
