Iron Man gives his 1974 BMW 3.0 CS a facelift with Speedkore – the Good Life

Specialized in the restomod of American muscle cars – Mustang, Charger, Corvette – Speedkore has agreed, at the request of Robert Downey Jr., to tackle a German. And not just any. A legend, desired by all behemists, the 1974 3.0 CS Coupe. Outside, the legendary BMW retains its timeless lines, with the exception of a few carbon details (the specialty of this Wisconsin garage). Thus, the front air intake, the sill moldings and the rear bumper are dressed in carbon fiber.

More confusing, on the "belt" which surrounds the car, the chrome is replaced by imitation wood. Ditto inside, on the steering wheel, doors and dashboard. A board completely redesigned to accommodate more modern, but neo-retro gauges, and a hidden screen.

A vintage appearance reinforced by the coffee-colored leather upholstery seems straight out of seventies. Tony Starck's interpreter seems to be a man of taste …

An engine from… BMW M5!

Under the hood, the original 3L leaves the ship. Speedkore replaced it with a beautiful baby: the S38 from the M5 E34. Six cylinders in line, necessarily, and 3.8 L of displacement, set to music by… a ZF 4-speed automatic transmission.

If the engine is hampered by this strange choice – Iron Man has found the recipe for time travel, but can't use a manual transmission? – it still delivers 311 horsepower, 130 more than the original 3 L.

A desirable restomod of a beautiful European, anything can happen! This is the third time that Robert Downey Jr. – used to driving brand new Audis in Marvel Cinematic Universe movies – calls on Speedkore.
