The Opera Touch app gets a makeover on iOS. To celebrate its third anniversary, the developers of the Internet browser have announced a redesign of its design, as well as a small name change.
New icon, new sleek design… Opera Touch changes its name for iOS and simply becomes Opera. For the three years of the browser, the developers of the application have carried out a major graphic overhaul on the Apple brand devices. More minimalist, the new Opera focuses on the privacy and ergonomics of its users, offering simplified one-hand navigation, as well as more readable interface. Another important optimization, that of the Flow tool, accessible directly from the navigation sidebar, and which allows to make the link between a computer and a smartphone in a completely secure way, simply thanks to a QR Code. Other functional additions should be announced “in the coming months” warned the company, which continues to progress to establish itself as a major alternative on iOS, since Apple has authorized the change of default browser on its devices.
VPN and cryptocurrency included
If Opera still suffers from competition from certain web giants, the browser nevertheless offers some very practical features. Starting with the integration of a native VPN on a smartphone, or the presence of a crypto wallet to carry out Ethereum transactions on the blockchain. The latter thus makes it possible to take advantage of the decentralized web, but also to synchronize its cryptocurrency on all of its devices. So many new features that could allow the company to develop its presence on iOS, and in particular in France, where the browser recorded a record increase of 66% of additional users in February 2021.
