iOS 14 is entitled to one of its last minor updates ahead of iOS 15’s launch this fall.

Rarely does Apple go this far behind the comma when it comes to a minor update. The firm has indeed just delivered the final version of iOS 14.7 for iPhone and iPadOS 14.7 for iPad. What’s new in this update?

iOS 14.7: all the news

While waiting for the release of iOS 15, scheduled for this fall, iOS 14 still has a few surprises in store for us. The first novelty is the support for a new accessory recently launched by Apple, the MagSafe external battery. MagSafe requires, it is only compatible with devices compatible with this function, namely the iPhone 12, iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max. To use it with these devices, you will therefore have to go through the update step by installing iOS 14.7.

Otherwise, this update offers many new features, including air quality information in the Weather app, new sorting options in Podcasts, or the ability to manage timers on HomePod via the Home app.

Otherwise, iOS 14.7 fixes some bugs that have not yet been corrected by Apple, such as problems with playback in Lossless and Dolby Atmos on Apple Music, or the return of the message asking to change the battery on some iPhone 11 models.

iOS 14.7

To install iOS 14.7 on your iPhone, go to the Settings, General, then Software update. Download the update and let yourself be guided through the installation. On iPad, it’s exactly the same principle.
