This May 18, 2020, a report from the analysis firm Display Supply Chain Consultants came to lift the veil on OLED screens full data sheet iPhone 12. Apple relies on 3 screen providers for the iPhone 12

Apple reports good work, report says 4 different iPhones. The iPhone 12, a direct successor to the iPhone 11 and iPhone XR, would be covered with a 6.4-inch OLED screen provided by Samsung Display. Ross Young talks about a resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels (475 ppi).

Apple is also preparing a large format version of this iPhone 12. This variant called iPhone 12 Max would be built around a 6.1-inch OLED screen (2532 x 1170, 460 ppi) supplied by LG Display and BOE, a specialized Chinese group. The report specifies that it is nevertheless LG which will take care of the majority of the panels.

For its part, the iPhone 12 Pro, successor to the iPhone 11 Pro, would be enhanced with a 6.1-inch OLED screen (2532 x 1170, 460 ppi) provided by Samsung Display. This screen will display 10 color bits and will XDR compatible, the index used by Apple on its high-end monitors. The screen should increase to 1600 nits of brightness and offer high contrast.

Even more upscale, the iPhone 12 Pro Max, heir to the iPhone 11 Pro Max, would benefit from a 6.68 inch screen (2778 x 1284 pixels, 458 ppi) compatible XDR and 10 Bits. Again, Apple will rely on the slabs of its usual supplier, Samsung Display.

Finally, Ross Young confirms the delay accumulated by Apple on its production schedule. According to him, the production of OLED tiles will start with a delay of 6 weeks.
