Like every year, Apple unveiled the new version of its iOS system during WWDC. The iOS 15 update will be available on all still supported iPhones.
For several years, it has been said that the operating system of the iPhone, iOS, has become mature. The novelties are less important and less numerous than before or involve less heavy technical modifications in the depths of the system. As a result, Apple, which was already very good at hardware support, is improving and is not abandoning any more products. The new iOS 15 version unveiled at WWDC is another example.

List of iOS 15 compatible iPhones and iPods
On the official iOS 15 website published by Apple, we can see the list of products compatible with the future update, which is scheduled for release later in the year.
In other words, all iPhone and iPod Touch already compatible with iOS 14, the version released in 2020, will in principle be able to benefit from the update to iOS 15. This is a preliminary list that may change between now and exit from the system, although this is unlikely at this stage.
- iPod Touch (7th generation)
- iPhone SE (1st generation)
- iPhone SE (2nd generation)
- iPhone 6S and 6S Plus
- iPhone 7 and 7 Plus
- iPhone 8 and 8 Plus
- iPhone X, XR, XS and XS Max
- iPhone 11, 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max
- iPhone 12, 12 mini, 12 Pro and 12 Pro Max
A relatively light update
It must be said that the changes made by iOS 15 are rather light. Apple seems to be making a habit of releasing new features for its mobile system more regularly, as we have seen from 14.1 to 14.5. In addition, among the new features announced for iOS 15, there are many updates to applications such as iMessages, Facetime or Apple Plans. We especially remember the new SharePlay features and the changes made to notifications as real changes at the system level.
