These renderings are based on the design of the Huawei P50 uploaded by the famous leaker OnLeaks last month. Steve Hemmerstoffer had indeed shared renderings of the smartphone, but had failed to determine the location of the cameras. Different designers then went to their heart’s content to imagine what Huawei’s smartphone could look like.. For example, we were able to see a 3D rendering of the P50 with a huge photo sensor.

We know for sure that the smartphone will use a design with two circles in the photo module, since cases a few days ago corroborated this atypical look on the back of the smartphone. Designer Waqar Khan has decided to share his vision of the smartphone, and it is equipped with 4 cameras on the back. This seems unlikely, since renowned leakers rather rely on a 3-sensor configuration.

The P50 could become a champion of the photo

Contrary to popular belief, Huawei will not unveil a one-inch sensor this year. According to leaker @ RODENT950, specialized in the Chinese brand, the P50 will use a new 1 / 1.18 inch (RYYB) IMX 707Y sensor. It will then be a little smaller than the new 1 / 1.12 inch Samsung GN2 sensor present in the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra.

According to RODENT950, the main sensor of the P50 will be supported by a large 1 / 1.74 inch IMX 600 ultra-wide-angle sensor. Finally, we will find the same OV08A10 telephoto sensor than the OnePlus 9 Pro, which will likely allow 3x optical zoom.

Finally, we know that the Huawei P50 will be powered by Huawei’s in-house processor, the Kirin 9000, which is also found on the recent Mate 40 Pro 5G. As of yet, it’s unclear exactly when the P50 might be announced, but the official presentation could take place in May or June. According to RODENT950, the latter might not be released at the same time as the more expensive versions, and would be postponed for a few weeks.
