Huawei recently announced Harmony OS, its new operating system to replace Android on its terminals. It is accompanied by a dedicated virtual keyboard called Celia Keyboard. It promises to be very classic, but effective.

Huawei will no longer use Android on its next mobiles and tablets, but Harmony OS. It is an operating system which is certainly inspired by Android, but which has nothing to do with it. On this one, Huawei obviously cannot use Gboard or its custom keyboard dedicated to the OS. The brand has therefore developed a new virtual keyboard: Celia Keyboard.

Available on the AppGallery, Celia Keyboard is a keyboard that looks very classic. However, it promises to be extremely complete. Indeed, the technical sheet describes compatibility with 170 languages and several alphabets. We are also promised security for our data.

Celia Keyboard allows user change the layout of the keys, the way of writing (by sliding or tapping), the color of the theme… it also offers a hundred emojis as well as a key for voice input. In short, a virtual keyboard that brings together everything the user needs. If it is not necessarily very original, it seeks to bring as much as possible to Harmony OS users. Note that this keyboard is free on the AppGallery and has no advertising. That’s the lesser of it.

If you have a Huawei Android smartphone, you can download it from the application store on your terminal.

Harmony OS, the replacement for Android at Huawei

Celia Keyboard had to equip devices under Harmony OS. As a reminder, Harmony OS will be used on all future products of the brand. The MatePad Pro tablet will be the first to take it on board. It will be commercially available this month.

Harmony OS looks like Android. Huawei seeks in fact not to lose its users and to offer a familiar experience. There are still some small differences, especially at the level of icons that can turn into widgets or the emphasis on home automation. It remains to be seen if the mayonnaise will take.
