The young driver of 25 will not have to look for another team for 2020. His contract with Alfa Romeo has officially been extended by one year on Monday.
Giovinazzi is currently ranked 18th in the championship with 4 points and is riding alongside Finland's Kimi Räikkönen."Antonio has done really well this year and I am extremely happy to confirm that he will stay at Alfa Romeo Racing in 2020. The way he has built into the team and has progressed steadily in his first full season is very promising, and we look forward to his full potential and continuing this adventure together. Antonio has proved to be a very fast driver, even alongside a benchmark as high as Kimi, and we expect him to continue his progression even more as his experience grows. His technical feedback, his work ethic and his positive approach will help us continue to pull the team up"Said Frederic Vasseur, team manager of Alfa Romeo Racing. Nevertheless, the news is probably less good to swallow for Nico Hulkenberg who had the objective of joining the team at the end of the year and the end of his contract with Renault.
