In anticipation of its full (and virtual) unveiling next week, Acura today provided us with a first look and some details about its TLX 2021 sedan, a model that marks the arrival of the second generation of the product.
The first image to be revealed is the rear of the model, which shows a wider vehicle, as well as a lower roofline, as do four exhaust tips. The rest remains unknown for the moment, but Acura promises that we will find in the exterior design clear references to the Precision concept presented in 2016 in Detroit, a model that launched the current signature of the brand's products.
Any other promises with this new TLX? Improved style, of course, but also increased performance and refinement. Thus, the luxury sedan TLX 2021 will be faster than before and adopt a bolder look, especially with curves and more pronounced features.
The image shown shows the Type S variant of the model, a variation that will be at the top of the hierarchy. We can therefore see large streaks on the rear diffuser, special badges and other elements that will differentiate this sportier version. The Type S edition returns to the brand after an absence of 10 years.
The new TLX is the latest embodiment of Acura’s vision of Precision Crafted Performance. So, after the beginnings of the second generation NSX and the third generation RDX, not to mention the addition of PMC (Performance Manufacturing Center) Edition models which are also produced at the factory that assembles the NSX, we are witnessing this year the return of Type S performance variants. In addition, we are entitled to the debut of a new 3-liter turbo V6 engine. The latter will take its first steps under the hood of the Type S variant of the TLX.
Next week, we’ll have all the details for the Acura TLX 2021 for you.
