MILAN, Jan. 13 (Reuters) – Fiat Chrysler announced on Wednesday that the payment of an exceptional dividend of 2.9 billion euros to its shareholders under its proposed merger with PSA had “become unconditional”.
This exceptional dividend, which represents 1.84 euros per share, will be paid on January 29, FCA said in a press release.
Fiat Chrysler and PSA will finalize on Saturday their merger at more than 42 billion euros, which will give birth to Stellantis, the world’s fourth largest automotive group by volume sales.
Only FCA shareholders holding shares in the Italian-American manufacturer as of Friday, the day before this finalization, will be able to obtain the exceptional dividend.
FCA’s largest shareholder is Exor, a holding company of the Agnelli family, with a stake of nearly 29%. (Giulio Piovaccari, French version Bertrand Boucey)
