"Bebel", one of the last sacred monsters of French cinema, shot some 80 films during his 50-year career. Emmanuel Macron had promoted him to a grand officer last July. The actor invited to the Palais for this decoration discount several stars of the big screen, including Claude Lelouch and Jean Dujardin.

His great friend Robert Hossein, 91 years old, a man of cinema but also of theater, actor and director, was one of the craftsmen in France of the democratization of the theater and its decentralization in the region, creating from scratch the popular theater of Reims.
Already decorated by François Hollande
Already in May 2017, during his last week at the Elysee Palace, François Hollande decorated Jean-Paul Belmondo with the insignia of Grand Officer of the National Order of Merit, in front of the old accomplices of "Magnifique", Robert Hossein, Guy Bedos, Charles Gerard or Yves Lecoq.
