Assembled at the German plant in Leipzig, the BMW i3 has just passed the milestone of 200,000 units produced.
Launched in 2013, the BMW i3 is still as popular despite its great age. Almost 1,000 units sold on the German market alone during the month of September, it has just passed the milestone of 200,000 units produced since its launch.
Available in two engines, 125 and 135 kW, the BMW i3 has been manufactured since its inception at the German site in Leipzig, which supplies the world market. Limited to a 22.6 kWh battery in its early days, the BMW city car is now equipped with a 42.2 kWh pack allowing more than 300 kilometers of range.
Rumors have it that the BMW i3 is expected to continue its career until 2024. To stay in the race, the manufacturer will soon have to upgrade the battery capacity.
