Production of the Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport (2020) will begin next fall. In the meantime, the manufacturer from Molsheim is continuing its development. Video.
Shortly before the start of production, Bugatti is fine-tuning the development of its radical Chiron Pur Sport, here in video on the Nardo circuit in Italy. At the wheel, we find the official test driver of the Molsheim brand, Andy Wallace.
The laps made on the test track serve as the last check before the final tune-up. "I've been doing this job for a few years now, but this is my first time coming to Nardo. I like the track … The quick right-left-right combinations of the demanding 6.2 kilometer track are a real pleasure with the Chiron Pur Sport. The gearbox with shorter ratios provides even more brutal acceleration out of the corners. Maximum transverse acceleration is incredible. The Chiron Pur Sport provides direct feedback to the rider, which makes driving easier, ”says Andy Wallace.
60 examples of the Chiron Pur Sport
Bugatti announces that production of the Chiron Pur Sport will begin in fall 2020. 60 units will be assembled in Molsheim, each sold for 3 million euros. The delivery of the first cars to customers will take place this year.
As a reminder, the Chiron Pur Sport has been reduced by around 50 kilos compared to a "classic" Chiron. It also gained a stiffer and more agile chassis, a completely redesigned box with 15% shorter gearshifts. Under the hood, we find the impressive W16 with 1,500 horsepower and 1,600 Nm.
