At BMW, the X5 M Competition and its X6 M coupe counterpart are not really new. Presented in 2019, they survive through thick and thin and benefit for the end of the year from a limited edition called First Edition. The treatment, which is purely cosmetic, mainly concerns the exterior colors and the bodywork elements.

As much to warn the amateurs of the shades "Frozen Marina Bay Blue" (the mat blue of the X5) and "Frozen Dark Silver" (the mat gray of the X6), there will not be something for everyone. BMW only plans to produce 250 units (for the world) of the First Edition limited series of the X5 M and X6 M shown here. A numbered carbon plate will also be affixed in the passenger compartment.

The specific colors, taken from the BMW Individual color chart (therefore available to order on the classic versions) are not the only distinctive elements. Carbon body parts will also be found, especially the mirrors, the rear spoiler and the hood vents mainly. The 21 and 22 inch rims, lightened, are also specific to the First Edition. On the interior side, we will notice a two-tone Merino leather upholstery and Alcantara finishes, with orange stitching.

Still the same V8, supporting 625 hp

Beyond this additional exclusively cosmetic exclusivity, X5 and X6 M First Edition present no mechanical novelty. The same volcanic twin-turbo V8 of 4.4 l, strong of 625 hp and 750 Nm of maximum torque, still officiates there. For the record, the times are set at 3.8 s from 0 to 100 km / h for the X6 M, and a tenth more for the X5.

Pricing has not yet been released, but inflation is expected to be significant compared to the "conventional" X5 and X6 M. As a reminder, these start at € 145,400 and € 148,200 respectively.
