VIDEO. A next-generation BMW M3 with manual transmission was filmed on the Nürburgring.
The next BMW M3 was filmed again on the Nürburgring. The sedan is still heavily camouflaged and the pictures show nothing new but the sound, though. If you pay attention to gear changes and especially their duration, it is quickly realized that the car is equipped with a manual gearbox. Watch the video of Carspotter Jeroen.
This confirms what was suggested by various statements by BMW officials to international media these last time. Purists should be delighted. For chronograph enthusiasts, a dual-clutch transmission should be offered as an option.
Three distinct versions?
According to the latest rumors, the next M3 should be offered in three variants, from a two-wheel-drive model with a manual gearbox to an all-wheel drive version, with more power and a double-clutch gearbox.
In addition, it is not impossible that the car sports a radiator grille in the line of Concept 4 and possibly the future M4, which would help it to distinguish itself from the standard 3 Series. The presentation of the next BMW M3 is expected in the course of the year 2020. Its commercialization could only take place in 2021.
