The year 2020 marks the arrival of an evolution of Toyota's flagship. Since the 2017 restyling, the manufacturer has chosen to focus on the mechanics.
Some of the big changes include the extra horsepower, increased torque and the arrival of a Stop & Start.
A system which allows the Land Cruiser to gain emissions (237 – 267 g WLTP) but the penalty remains at 20,000 euros. The price starts at € 56,200 to benefit from Stop & Start.
Increased power and performance
The big 2.8l four-cylinder has the same power as the Hilux. Maximum power has been increased from 27 hp to 204 hp (between 3000 and 3400 rpm) and maximum torque has increased from 50 Nm to 500 Nm (available between 1600 and 2800 rpm).
Thanks to Stop & Start, consumption drops by 0.7 l / 100 km to reach 7 l / 100 km. Inside, the multimedia system gains a touchscreen with customizable home page and Apple CarPlay and Android connectivity.
Evolution without revolution
The Land Cruiser is available in three and five doors and remains committed to its classic design that makes it comfortable off-road.
For the transmission, it relies on a 6-speed gearbox, whether mechanical or automatic, while competitors multiply gears for smoothness.
Latest stylistic development, a "black pack" including a chrome grille, mirrors and black accessories as well as the central console.
