Audi welcomes new apprentices to train them – – –

Now is the time to start a career! Around 420 apprentices and 23 double-study undergraduates are now starting their professional careers at Audi in Ingolstadt.

Training in 18 areas
The brand with the four rings has been training its newcomers in a total of 18 professional fields for more than 70 years in Ingolstadt. The first day for newcomers this year, however, is quite different from the usual routine. The different professional groups are received at the training center at different times – “coronavirus-ready” – and brought to the respective group rooms. They are greeted by video by Sabine Maaßen, member of the management committee responsible for human resources and by the chairman of the works council Peter Mosch, as well as by former Audi apprentices, among others. This procedure ensures sufficient distance between groups.

"It is particularly important for us to ensure that our new apprentices get the best possible start in a forward-looking apprenticeship, despite the difficult situation"said Christoph Hermreck, responsible for coordinating vocational training. Digital learning tools also play a central role: “We have already gained a lot of experience in this area through conversion to digital platforms and virtual learning. The new generation of apprentices benefits from this. " Peter Mosch points out that: "Only solid and modern learning can best prepare the qualified employees of tomorrow for the challenges of the future. And we offer our young Audi employees exactly that kind of training. "

With dual professional training, the four-ring brand offers hands-on training in forward-looking skills related to automobiles and connected systems, data management and modern communication systems. Apprentices acquire practical know-how in the training center or in apprenticeship stations while also being provided with theoretical knowledge in vocational school. New this year is Business Apprenticeship in Digitization Management, an extension of the apprenticeship for former IT management assistants. As an interface function between IT and the specialist field, the emphasis here is also on the digital development of business models and on the topics of data protection and security. Audi thus adapts its professional training to the digitization process within the company and trains specialists in relevant areas at an early stage. For the first time, a paramedic is also in training. Another offer in the apprenticeship range is the possibility of further qualification in various professional fields including digital networking or additive manufacturing (3D printing). These are complemented by an additional review from the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IHK).

Audi dual: a double course
In addition to vocational training, the company also offers the "Audi dual" dual training program. In this case, in addition to the theoretical content of the course, the program also includes practical work within the company. "A dual curriculum provides a practice-oriented head start to our company's incredibly diverse careers", says Marco Reich, responsible for the coordination of double formations. The trend towards IT and digitization, alongside the technical subject of mechanical engineering, is also evident in the fields of study offered. The automaker is cooperating with the Technical University of Ingolstadt and the Technical University of Munich to this end.

After being successful, the automotive company guarantees students and apprentices a permanent position.
